FDJ (Desert Psychlist) Authentic sounding retro proto-metal/hard rock that sounds like something you might have plucked from the shelves of a record shop in 1973 Favorite track: Fields Of Unconscious.
Alrihkh

Alrihkh This is a really good hard rock album. It sounds something like a hybrid of Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, Ram Jam (Black Betty), and maybe a bit of The Yardbirds. The vocals have a bit of Jagger’s swagger and the lead guitar sounds like it’s been blessed by Hendrix. It’s just good old rock n’ roll that’s fun to listen to. Love it! Definitely a gem. Should the old gang ever convene again, this would be a great one to spin. This album demands a gather-call be given! 8/10. Favorite track: Freedom.

paul rote One of the year’s top album . Probably retro album of the year . A Jeronimo cover . This is so authentic you could think Ape Skull were contemporaries of of the likes of Jeronimo , Orange Peel , and Damnation of Adam Blessing.
All bands they covered a song of . Favorite track: Fields Of Unconscious.

Bucky Ape Skull haven’t necessarily recreated the wheel, but they sure have power mowed a notch out of my brain with 7 tracks of hard rock, frolicked by funk and flourishing in proto-borne hook. Each track gets better and better.
Fernando Benítez
Fernando Benítez thumbnail
Fernando Benítez ahhhh... excellent early 70s-like retro rock. or heavy psych. or 'stoner', call it what you like. it does capture that old time vibe. wonder what the guys in Jeronimo think of these guys? reminds one of Grand Funk, a bit of Hendrix, Kadavar, a much heavier Traffic, but with a certain Swedish flavor here and there: November, Witchcraft, early Horisont? yet they don't shy away from some vintage hard rock a la UFO, AC/DC, Purple... like a rare sunny day after the shittiest year of our lives.

about

APE SKULL
Giuliano Padroni: drums, lead vocals, backing vocals
Fulvio Cartacci: guitar, backing vocals
Pierpaolo Pastorelli: bass, backing vocals
Ape Skull were born in 2008. After various experiences with bands such as "Sciacalli" and "The
Others", three friends start a project that plans to continue the path that is part of their background.
Blues, Funk and Psychedelia are some of the ingredients that characterize their compositions. The
genre can essentially be called Rock!
After the first two albums (Ape Skull and Fly Camel Fly, produced by Heavy Psych Sounds records), Ape
Skull are happy to present their third work "Fields Of Unconscious", produced by Ape Skull and
Skronk Records. Here we find original songs that embody the sound of Ape Skull. It will also
include, as in previous albums, a version customized by their sound in this case composed by J. J. Light
(Jeronimo version).
The Ape Skull's Rock still flies and lives in the present, with the ear turned to all the musical genres
that inspired the musical revolution of the 60's and 70's.
